I stumbled upon a post about adult dating advice and it was suggested that using old photos for your online dating profile would be a bad idea. This makes sense, and I understand that. What blew me away was the fact that the writer decided to point out that being dishonest with your potential date from the beginning about your pic makes you shallow, bot the other person if they decide they are not into you.
I had not thought about it this way. I know some people out there want to think that if you make a connection, then looks should not be the most important thing. That is a great ideal, and one that most people probably want to believe. What surprised me about the article is that it made realize that hiding recent photos actually makes one a liar, and honesty is a much more important ideal in my mind. So I must agree with this advice, and I had not even considered the implications until reading it.
