Appreciating adult conversation

Throughout my 20′s I just pretty much lived life surrounding mostly by other adults, and enjoyed the freedom to pretty much talk about anything with everyone. Years later I now really appreciate the time, often just moments of adults only conversation. It seems that so many people have to censor themselves through so much of the day every day, that having time for a cup of tea with another adult, not having to hold your tongue about anything, is quite rare.

I find that so many times throughout the day and night I have to hold back these days. Whether it’s being at work or the store, so many places we spend time these days, we have to watch what we say, and how loud we say it. Sometimes the less public places like home and the car are invaded by phone calls, or other people being around, sometimes like when kids are around, you have to hold back from being totally open and uncensored.

Now I find that when I get the space, and the right people where I can share any thought without having to worry about what I’m saying or how I am saying it, I really appreciate it. It seems that it is really pretty rare, aside from when I spend online, that I can be totally free about my thoughts and feelings. Thank goodness for the net!
